all completed, and noticed, little to no power gain,
i did notice that the nav doesnt bog down and lag on hot days, thats the only advantage ive noticed.
otherwise its just been a huge waste of time and money...?

do others notice power gains ?

Cheers

have you checked boost before and after the IC ?

the IC looks similar sized to the one i fitted in my toyota, which has a decent boost drop across it despite being a smaller lower air flow engine than what you have.

also i don't expect power gains from an IC. power comes from fuel. fitting an IC allows you to wind the fuel up.
you may get some driveability changes ie smoother pickup.

i put a forefront front mount winch compatable kit on my 2006 3ltr d22 2 weeks ago had a dp chip and 3 inch exhaust before the ic but the intercooler made good gains cooler running temps and more responsive and smoother ,easily noticable

Good job mate, thats a pretty big intercooler as well. You dont get alot of power from intercooling diesels. I thought i did notice a slight improvement when fiting my front mount. But now your egts should of dropped slightly. And its good piece of mind if your turbo goes it wont end up in the motor

it actually won't make that much difference other than keeping the under bonnet temps a little cooler. (unless intake pipe is right close to the exhaust side of the turbo).

with such high volume of air and so little surface area, theres very little change in temp.

the more important thing is the air inlet to the turbo. having that free flowing and as cool as possible will make a bigger difference.
