G'day mate,
I got a full 3 inch turbo back system on my D22 3.0L nav and it makes the car go so much better haha with yours a 3 inch will sound sick too! just get no mufflers put on it and it will sound nice with a lot of turbo spool :) But you won't get a spastic amount of diesel engine noise because the turbo muffles a lot of the noise naturally haha. 4.2L Patrol diesel, different story! I got a turbo back system made up for $680 from Bay Road Bridgestone/ Bay Road 4x4 in Cheltenham.

definately dont get a muffler if you want it to sound beefy.

my 3 in system is almost as quiet as stock.

Thanks for the info man
Yeah I want that turbo spool bad haha
With no muffler is that not too loud?
Cause don't want a loud exhaust as I do heaps of freeway driving and don't want it to drain my bls if you catch my drift

There is a local place near me that makes loudish systems, called suncoast exhaust in Noosaville.

think they were doing them for like $600 for forum members to.

personally I think they sound pretty shit and a beaudesert one sounds much better, but they cost twice as much.

just called professional exhaust in airport west and got quoted $1450
for
dump pipe
3" exhaust
hot dog center resonator
and rear muffler
so has to be somewhere cheaper

Haha all good mate :) Nah not at all, like it is a tiny bit louder but barely noticeable in the cabin, mates hear it from the outside and love it! I got mine to stop at the diff, also known as a diff dumper, because less bends it it which is what I wanted (plus, cops will think it is just stock), having said that, it isn't illegal anyway haha. Definitely get it done! Chip is next, cannot wait to see the performance gains from that coupled with the exhaust :)

Went to glenroy exhaust today and guy was saying something about finishing the exhaust shorter
Might be taking it tomorrow to get it done, that's if it rains or not
He said going to do hot dog resi and rear muffler by memory
But not sure about dump pipe
Is the dump pipe the thing that makes the turbo sound louder?
If so better call him and order one in

hey boosted can you throw up that other link you have? cheers
im chasing a 3in for my 2.5lt but unsure if to run a muffler or not yet,
will be ordering and fitting myself, so need to know before i order it all,

I had a 3" mandrel bent from the turbo back made up for around the $800 mark.
It sounds great in my opinion. No muffler, no resonator and no cat. Mind you I have the QD32.
Here is a video for sound. Skip ahead to 1m41s as the link seems broken if I add that as the start time.

As for the dump pipe. That will give the best performance and sound providing the rest of the system is done as well. The stock dump pipes are terrible.

This one I just took from inside the car with all 4 windows open. I have another one my mate took on the weekend driving on the beach and its loading the car up and whistling like all hell but I gotta get him to send it to me

Make sure its mandrel bent, not press bent, seen a few press bent exhausts and you get alot of restriction despite the increase in diameter of the pipe.
