D22 ZD30 Thermostat location

Hi All,
Silly question, where's the thermostat on these things? Had a look and can't see an obvious location! Figure it's easier to ask before I start pulling things apart trying to find it!

In the pipe on the passenger side at the front of the engine.

I've got a 2004.... the water inlet is on the drivers side.
I found the page in the manual (must have missed it before!) Looks like a pain in the ass... gotta remove the drive belts and idler pulley??
Fingers crossed I can just remove the inlet from below without pulling anything else off!

They should be the same from 2001 to 2007 on the zd30. The pipe is the one below the alternator.

Thanks again Rumpig, finally got around to changing the thermostat today, in the location you said! Pain in the ass to get to, but it's done!

No worries. Looking to replace mine some time soon, not expecting it to be as easy as the old Kingswood.
