My 2008 ST-X King cab t/d auto Thai built is has reached 105K, seller only did a minor at 100K, but the Nav is only just 4 years old.
Does the timing chain need changing or upgrading on the Thai built D40?
If so, does the timing chain failure start at 100K or 5 years?
Ie is it distance or time failure?
Thanks,

Timing chains are not meant to be replaced, if you think its making excess noise get it looked at asap otherwise dont stress to much.

So is this still the general belief amongst everyone??? I know the chains stretch, but don't the tensioners get destroyed??

Mine is up for it's 100K service, I've noticed a few slaps/knocks coming from the motor recently, new sounds they are. I was going to try a thinner oil.
