Is 2.5" too small for a dump pipe? What size is the standard one, by a guesstimate, not a great deal smaller than that.

The only thing you will gain from going to a 'dump pipe' in these things is the fact that this one obviously gets rid of the cat.
Highly unlikely.... but if you do get pulled up and they notice no cat you could be in strife. But as I said unlikely anyone would pick it.
Would also have to make sure your exhaust would bolt up to this or otherwise you will have to get custom work done to fit= more $
