How many Kms?

If you serviced it yourself that tells me it was done properly and at 5k intervals?

Not 5k, more like 10-15. Think i've learnt my lesson there.

10k is the standard service interval.

odds are damage was done in the first 100,000 km's. however it could have been something like an injector fail (or failing) which is totally out of your hands.

my 2005 str died at 110k. 10k intervals, serviced by the dealer. Now doing 5k intervals myself. Mine was a blown turbo, not holed pistons.

Decided not going to repair it. If someone else wants to buy it and put a new/second hand or even rebuild it will be up to them. I can't afford the risk of something else going wrong as well.
