My d22 navarra is misfiring mostly on the highway. Lifted the hood and noticed lots of oil spray directly around the hose from the intercooler to the turbo.
It seems to idle fine, it's not blowing smoke, it's not overheating. It is mis firing and burning lots of fuel

Bit of a surprise that it's not blowing smoke. Sounds like a boost leak, check the oil-covered hose for damage and the clamps for tightness (they should tight enough to hold the hose but not tight enough to pinch it).

check to see if your overfilled with engine oil.
check breather is working fine and not blocked.
otherwise check if turbo is blowing oil out, turbo seal may have failed.

i'm guessing the misfiring is actually the engine running on engine oil because so much is going down the intake.

Replaced the hose and clamps to the turbo intake. Some mprovement to performance. Took if for a test run and while better, it was still misfiring on the moterway. Found oil around the intercooler intake hose (opposite side). Tightened the hose clamps. Definitely running better. But seems like a lot of oil flowing through the system.
