July last year I bought an 08 D22 Navara with 20K on the clock. Loved it. However I have now done 35K and so far I have had to get the timing chain replaced, Vacuum pump and the rear just has just shit itself. Have I got a lemon or what!!!! I don't drive hard, I regularly get less than 9L per hundred Kand only go off road camping occasionaly. I would go more but it's either at the dealer or I don't trust it taking it anywhere too remote. It's currently in the shop getting the diff looked at and today I found out it will not be covered under warranty due to no manufacturing defect present. How the hell can a vehicle having only done 35K and the diff failed not be a manufacturing fault.
I am very dubious about dealerships so i took it to a 4WD specialist beforehand to get his opinion. The oil sample from the diff was amazing. It was black and th smell of burnt expensive components was sickening not to mention the presence of metal shavings. I would also like to mention that I am ahead in my services and had the 40K major service done 3K ago(which states that the diff oil is to be replaced) Anyway i'm waiting to hear from the dealer if they will send another report stating that the diff has suffered an manufacturing defect. To their credit they seem willing to help but I believe the real problem lies in there actual service department. I believe only a very small part of my service was carried out at all, if any and from now on will take measures to catch them out in the future. Thanks for the rant
