Hi All,
Not long bought a 2004 D22 2.5 DI double cab. I'm loving it, whilst making some updates, but there is a loud rattle that seems to be coming from the nearside of the engine compartment. It only happens at certain times, like accelerating after changing manual gears. I have had the truck serviced and the garage replaced the bonnet bushes but the noise persists.
Any suggestions please.

Could be a dozen different things.

Heat shield on exhaust manifold, turbo or dump pipe
Clutch piping against firewall
ABS lines (unlikely but never say never)
Weak engine mount
Loose radiator or intercooler
Alternator pulley
Cracked blade on cooling fan
Damaged shroud on cooling fan contacting fan when engine under load

Check the components that bolt on and put packing foam under brake and clutch lines to see if the sound goes away.
