Help on Snorkel D40

please help

I have installed a snorkel myself last night and its great allowing heaps more air flow into the engine.
But do i need to seal from the snorkel to the guard with silicon to stop dust or small rocks getting stuck in between and rubbing though the paint and creating rust m using my

If there is no rubber gasket supplied, then I would do as you are thinking.
Use the best quality neutral cure silicone sealant you can buy for the job.
