howdy all

Was doing my valve adjustments and glow plugs today so while I had everything out i thought id buy a cheap compression test kit to hook up

following the service manual, the standard should be 427 psi for the QD32.
I was expecting low readings because i've been getting some oil out the dipstick but it showed about 600 on each cylinder

Could this just be a faulty gauge? It was brand new but cheap as they come ;)

hey mate, i'm not sure about the compression but if you're getting oil out of your dipstic i would check the pcv on the tappet cover it's supposed to relieve that pressure
cheers doug

Wouldn't trust using cheap measurement tools on any equipment you value. they usually aren't calibrated.
Did it come with a certificate of calibration?
So many cheap imports are so far out of whack as to be useless.
Recently used a chinese tyre inflator with gauge that was 6-10 psi out, new straight out the box.
