I'm looking at buying a second hand genuine Nissan steel bull bar. It is winch compatable but I was wondering if that means I can simply mount any winch to it? I was looking at a grande 12000lb winch. Will this bolt straight in or does it require another bracket?

It should bolt straight in, it's just the length of the bolts that matter. I had to get longer bolts - 5mm longer on the bottom, 10mm longer on the top.
Most winches conform to a standard - 254mm by 114.3mm (which is 10" by 4.5"). The Nissan bar does - so most winches will fit.
There might be an issue with the fairlead - some fairleads have long bolts holding the rollers in and that might prevent the fairlead from fitting in.
