Hi Guys,
before you ask, yep, Iv'e used the search function with limited success.

I have a 2012 D22 Jap build.

If i don't use the aircon for a week or so, when I first engage it, it makes quite one hell of a grinding noise and is enough to sap power from the engine. This lasts maybe a couple of seconds.

If I then turn the aircon off, wait a few minutes and turn it back on, it is seemless as one would expect from a new car.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience and what came of it?

All help is appreciated

Shan

I to am interested in this.

My d40 does the same thing only every time I get a chance to look at it (I'm an auto election with my ac tickets) it doesn't do it.

I have degassed the system and pulled the fittings on the compressor off to inspect inside for any evidence of an internal fault but have not found any. Have inspected the clutch and the front bearing and found nothing.

I have asked Nissan and had it in there for this exact reason but nothing was found by them and it didn't do it that day.

Am interested as to what if anything has been found or done by other people.

well... glad we cleared this up!

At least I know I'm not on my own
