1/2" breaker bar. Maybe with the addition of a hammer depending on how stuck the sealant they use on the plug is... why they use sealant on a tapered plug is beyond me, but anyway...

looks like the square insert is larger than 1/2 inch,something like 20 odd mm.
i went to repco but all they have is a multi purpose sized tool thats only about 250mm long .

Hmmm.. i just used a 1/2" breaker in everything except the gearbox (hex key on my 2010) and didn't have any dramas. I'd say nissan used the dame last time they did the fluids because the rear diff plugs were slightly chopped out where the breaker bar goes in... didn't have any trouble getting them undone though.

Yeah I always used a 1/2" drive straight in the hole on mine. Cant remember what was on the gearbox but didnt need any specialty tools.
