Hey guys, I started the process of turboing the nav last weekend.

While taking off the exhaust manifold i found that the lower back exhaust stud has been snapped off, it is just inside the block.

I have been using penatrine and WD40 and drilled out the stud to use an easy out but its been pretty tight still, so I was wondering if anyone here has tried to get one out of a QD32 head?

Or even if you had the same issue with a ZD30 and how you finally got it out.

I guess the worse case scenario is to drill the whole thing out and use a helicoil.

have you tried gentle heat then quick cooling with a can of freezeall(I think that's what they call it)
it might be enough to get it moving if the ezyout has a good bite
otherwise helicoil

goodluck

Yep, just like Sparra says. The freezing agent should be localised inside the hole that you drilled so that the bolt contracts but leaves the surrounding metal in its expanded state.

If you have one, use an impact driver (not wrench) - I use one of these (click HERE, not there).
