couple more of broken stuff.
last on is of what you will need to fix a ful tank in the middle of nowhere.
we managed to use a cake of soapchopped up and mixed with diesel and a little bit of dirt to make a paste which hardened over the top, some paperbark to absorb any wetness and yeh taped and tied it all in there.

oh also if you ever need to weld a smallhole in a diesel tank and you dont want to drain it or take it off, use an electric soldering iron to heat the plastic and close the gap.

been a while time for updates,

285's back on
winch pulled apart and everything cleaned/rust removed and regreased, added synthetic rope now
air box pre filters removed and sealed tight, now get a deep tone from the snorkle and what seems like stronger air flow.
oils all changed
batterys taken out cleaned corrosion removed and wiring all reterminated
sub fixed and upgraded speakers
fully sealed the hole in the fuel tank
sway bar still removed with no issues.

and now some new bits,
dog/gear cage fully fab'd by myself (not bad for an electrician) dag cage has internal lighting for when i've got my fridge sitting in there and i cant see inside it. also switched led work lights which are also relayed as reverse lights.
the main new toy a 40" lightbar unsure how i went so long without one.
and a fold out platform which acts as a bed/table so i can sleep on the tray above things.
oh and new dba slotted rotors and offroad pads.

still to do
bullbar lift to match body
diff breathers
chip/exhaust
turbo timer/boostgauge and pyro.
repaint chassis
new custom front bash plate.

watch this place pics to come ;)

giving up with trying to make the d40 an extreme 4wd and have just gone for the tourer route now and willl buy another toy for playing.

amoungst other news i have blown a turbo up. bent tray mounts, ****ed an exhaust manifold and egr chamber and the list goes on. (what a massive ordeal to get another turbo)

ups.
rooftop tent has been put on tray just waiting for the awning to rock up

solar set up installed 110w panel,200ah agm, ctek d250s.

front bar has been swapped out for xrox

inverter and gpo installed into tray

pod filter and hot piping on the go.

still to come: awning, painting, re install winch, fix tray mount, cut and reweld tyre mount under car to suit 33, rear locker, chip, lots more photos and touring!

and a sneak of how she sits atm, first time with the rooftop on and its a major upgrade from the old swag!!

Do you now what caused the turbo failure? Don't know much bout turbos but I assume this is the hot side....I've upped my boost to...hope this wasn't the cause?

the turbo ate some mud a while ago, before i knew the snorkle wasnt really a snorkle. so it had a little bit of shaft play and few cuts on the fins on the front compressor wheel. im assuming over time with it sitting on 29psi and my right foot not helping she eventually let go.

made a really wild sound to, im just glad it was the rear that broke not the front.

Good your still running...and right foot is a problem...just got bitten by the power bug too...again...came from V8s was hoping to leave my modding days behind with the nav but can't help myself now.
