Oh yeah of course, generally we didn't get to many of those down here, APM and Forrestry's got some but most farmers didn't even know they had a spare wheel let alone put it in a visible location.
 
Most of the ones down here that didn't go to the farmers went to the open cut mines and the only mods they needed was to put the muffler on the front bumper. I'm fairly sure half of the contractors out here that got company cars also got company fix it contractors because very few of them had tools or spares of any kind.
 
ha at no tools... dads set up was pretty thorough, it was his own vehicle, but he got funding to buy whatever he wanted.

ended up with a 3K snap on road chest (just the box alone) with a full set of snap on spanners 4mm - 32mm, full snap on socket set 6mm - 44mm, long sockets, short sockets, socket wrenches of all sorts, pliers, vice, rah rah rah rah, and all just in the one box. all snap on stuff and still has it today on his new cruiser.

otherside was another 2 toolboxes full of just spares, recovery gear, chains, extra tool parts, etc etc etc.

then in the back corner was a hydro mini crane for lifting anything and everything on and off the cruiser.

then there is his tandem trailer... wouldnt know where to begin on the range of tools, but its got a 12kv onboard genset with custom fuel tank and exhaust setup, full sized mitresaw, full drawer system of just bolts, nuts, random bits, etc, tools from drills to nail guns to air blowers to cut off saws to impact wrenches to laser level systems to staple guns, etc etc etc. pretty much has every corded and cordless tool you can think of onboard, as well as all the ladders, shovels, platform equipment, etc under the trailer in a seperate compartment.

on the weight bridge it came out to 6.2t haha, and that was his daily driver up until last year in feb, and he ALWAYS drove it around to every single job like that, always ready with every tool you could ever need.

used to have oil changes every 1,500 to 3,000km on the mine site!
 
i have a CF50 Waeco and i have had alot of problems with it. I must of got a dud but i would never buy another one it sucks power like its tax deductible. Look at the power usage and warranty

just brought the waceo 80 and for 6days running at -9 freezer and 2 in the fridge (seperate temp gauge) in my camp tailer running of two 100ah batterys not a problem and thats with out any extra charging, and many many many openings for beers , very happy . and it was low 30s C during the day. So for the price and warranty can't beat it.
 
MMMM I purchased a 80L about 5 years ago, Cf-80 I think $1499.00.

I recently need to regas it ( for the 3 time ) to get it to work.

After about a month it just stopped working went to a fridge specialist and it had blocked the tubes behind the main body of the fridge ( not Fixable ) now have a useless 1499.00 fridge :((((
Spoke to the fridge specialist, next fridge I would buy is a engel as ALL parts are replaceable !!!!!
 
Correction it might be a useless fridge but it's not worth $1499 :smile:

But your right to be pissed, our Liemack has lasted over 14 years and traveled the country atleast 3 times and never had any work done on the fridge, we had to do some work on the inverter once but never the fridge itself.
 
engel has my vote.
me old man has had a engel fridge in his kenworth for 30 odd years + in his trucks, still works to this day except he has updated to a newer engel.
 
Up until about a week ago, my answer to this question would have been emphatically Engel. However let me relate what has just happened and let you decide.

Last week my 4 year old Engel MT45 stopped working,so I took it to a local repair agent who has got it going, hi diagnosis, "a blockage in the cooling system, probably moisture that has frozen or a forign matter body that got caught up somewhere" this is by the way a diagnosis that Engel concur with. So my fridge currently works but is not what you would call reliable.

I re contacted Engel to see what could be done, they advise replacing the cooling system at a cost of $550, in order to make it reliable, and as it's out of warranty I'm on my own with it, they won't even discount the replacement part. As this diagnosis is definately a (manufacturing defect) as the cooling system is supposed to be a sealed unit I don't think this is good enough, What do you think..?
 
I got a CF80 Waeco. Its 3 years old and had a hard life. It threw in the towel in December 2010 in 38C heat. But nothing the repair man couldn't fix and she's away again.

Good points - it fits perfectly in the tub of a D40 under the tonneau cover and in between the wheel arch and tailgate. And with aid of a little step stool Miss Piggy can even reach into it and get those nice cold ones down in the bottom of the fridge for me :sarcastic:

Bad points - it sucks more power than BHPs smeltering plant. Especially if its hot weather, the beer is warm and its under that black tonneau!!
