Theres one to watch for.

My list of complaints is growing and will all be placed squarely at the feet of the wankership that I bought it from on the next RDO.

drivers side window external surround/seal. havn't got it yet cause they never ring back. so i will call them every day till it happens. they're prob waiting till my warrenty runs out in march

Mine goes in next week with possible rooted injectors at 17,000kms. It blows smoke like you wouldn't believe, real think black soot. Taking off at the lights at night the car behind me disappears, almost like "batman, activate smoke screen!"

I got my new beaudesert exhaust delivered yesterday, I'm not putting it on till Nissan fix my bloody ute :hmpf:

how do you know if your injectors are rooted?? my D22 08 model blows alot of smoke when i take of at lights but goes away when in 3rd gear!! and how do i make a warranty claim?? do i have to take it back to where i bought it from or do i just go to the nearest nissan dealership? thanks

Hmmm,
looks like early injector failure for the d22 2.5 donk.

Something to look forward to..........NOT!

So far my last of the run ZD30 powered D22 has had nothing go wrong with it in any way. I have only covered about 35,000km in it though, but 30K of it has been towing a car and trailer.

Took a punt and started servicing it myself after the 10,000km service as I am NOT paying $300 odd for an oil and filter change plus an arms length walkaround "Inspection" It is out of warranty now so it has paid off, I don't intend to sell it any time soon and by the time I expect to a service history will not make much difference to the sale price.

I've done a bit of research and found a few people with the new d22 are having issues with loss of power and excessive smoking which mine is currently doing. The problem is faulty injectors, I brought this issue up not long after I brought the car. I was having trouble pulling an 800kg trailer up hills!!! I said that wasn't good enough and it was smoking like a 20yr truck. "Nah there's nothing wrong with it" nissan said. Bloody typical bull crap. It's going back in this week and I bet I get the same responce. I'm thinking of taking it to a specialist diesel injector/dyno tuner and getting them to diagnose the exact problem so I can go back to nissan and tell them what for.

A couple of other things:
Hand brake keeps loosing tension, won't hold the car on a hill for a hill start and if it does the car smokes and carrys on before the turbo winds on, stalls VERY easily, has fluk all power. I've driven a lot of cars, utes, heavy trucks ect and this is beyond a joke.

Speedo is out by around 10kph at 100. But everyone knows that, nissan won't touch it.

I like my ute but I'm starting to think I should have just stayed with a petrol?

Sorry, rant over

When I had the injectors replaced,I told the Nissan dealer about the smoke problem, they reset the fuel pump which made no diference, then said they would replace the injectors,no questions asked.I think a lot of warranty work depends on the attitude of the dealership. It took them 5 hours to do the job,Nissan only reimbursed them for 1.5 hours labour.

Yeah nissan are awesom! Not.. the plastic cover on steering stops have worn through at 20k but apparently they are a wear and tear item. They wanted $68 to replace them or $7 x2 for the part??. Apart from that my central stopped working 10k ago and nothing was done the 3 times i took it in to be checked until i said keep the car till it's fixed. Not the easiest place to get a call back from either

Just had my first warranty job from different dealer to original seller. Von Bibra on the Gold Cost were very helpful but I felt just a little stuffed around.
The photos show the connecting tube from the turbo which had perished to the point where it fell off and was blowing air to space and sucking unfiltered air. The dealer was happy to replace the part, had it in stock but had to replace the screw clamps which they did not have in stock. They would have to come from Perth. 3 calls could not hurry them up until I virtually demanded they fit the part using the old clamps. They agreed and he car was left with them.
Surprise, they found a kit that had clamps in it and it must have had the other pipe as well because both rubber connectng pipes were replaced with new clamps on both.
But at least the Nav is back to good again.

i had that same pipe split. if otheres are still running the original it's a good thing to check. best to remove it to check it properly.

on another note still chasing up Garry Crick Noosaville for the drivers window seal surround. After the 4th call to them they came up with the excuse it's policy the service manager needs to see it. even though i spoke with the service manager the 1st time i was there and he put me onto one of the parts guys who expected it. anyway i drove it again and he expected it. still waiting a week later.

Doesn't this stuffing around cost them more money then it's worth? They get paid by Nissan to carry out the work

Hey mate i have an 08 2.5litre nav and it has 28000km on it. From take off mine also blows plenty of black smoke until i hit 3rd. talked to a mechanic about it and he reckons that it is the injector pump pumping in more fuel untill the turbo hits boost range so to reduce the turbo lag. Do not know if that is true or not!!! My mate has the same ute and it does the same thing to!!!

Other than that it hasnt lost any power and still tows the boat real well.

And yeah my speedo is out alot also at 100!!!

ps did you end up taking your ute to the injector specialists?? if so what did they have to say??

thought id update my post,
1 drag link,
1 front crank shaft seal
hazzard light switch.

06 model purchased feb 07
Speaker stopped working, parts guys would not give me another one, wanted to get the car in, to much hassle I had already put another one in that I had at home.
Rear wheel cylinders leaking at 50000km, could not see much point putting the same poor quality back on, I got them stainless sleeved.
leaking sump gasket at 60000km, at about 2 years 8 months old, I was going away for 3 months Mrs took the car in to nissan they told her it was warranty.
Note that I have always serviced the car, had a business as a mobile mechanic, they just had to see an oil container for the oil i had used, fixed without fuss no charge at all.
I had been using gtx diesel but after seeing somwhere that it was not advised i rang castyrol tech and now use Magnatec, which was fine for the warranty.
Also this car is not used as a 4wd, does the odd dirt road but basically a bitumen car, we have dirt roads to home and on the property and its used for some weekend trip where we take more than two people.
have a 79 series ute that gets used for proper trips.

incidentally i think the reason the hose failed is because someone cranked the hose clamps up way to tight. you can see in the pics where its cut through the rubber its was so tight. it squished the runner down that much it ripped caused the big split.
at least nissan changed the hoses. but to stop that happening again fit a catch can. that will stop the oil getting in between the hose and pipe making them come off. if its stays oil free you will not need to crank the hose clamps up so hard.

At its first 1000k service they had to replace every cab bolt.
Something about putting the wrong nuts and bolts on at the factory.
My dealer is such shit it never ever goes back there anymore. Not even if it is warrenty related. I would rather pay then deal with those f***wits ever again!!!
