Hello everyone been reading this forum for a while now so much good information

anyway the problem i sheared off a short side flange on the front diff
so i thought that i might upgrade and put a bigger diff in and why not build a diff drop at the same time looks easy enough
so i did. New bigger diff came from the wreckers so i bolted it all up happy with my handy work :) looking back at what i had made and realized that the new bigger r200 diff is millimeters from a sensor that's on the side of my alloy sump.

i thought why not test it out just to see what happens maybe it wont hit
maybe they got quantum mechanics and string theory all wrong....
they didn't it hit against the diff just driving around in 2 wheel drive let alone in 4wheel drive over bumps

so i took it back out for now

my question is
has anyone done a r200a diff swap on a yd2.5 str
have you had the same problem how did you over come it

i have thought i could move the diff forward and over to the left but there is bugger all play in the cv side to side
i don't think i would get enough clearance from what i have to play around with the cv's

diff drop i made is 1 and a half inches and my car is 2012 yd2.5 d22 and i have 2inch tough dog lift

any help would be great i can put pictures up if it helps
thanks

Not sure on a cure sorry mate but would love to see the diff drop kit you made. We have spoken about it quite a bit here.

i will take some pics and put it up tomorrow really easy to make with the diff original diff cross members
or make some out of 40mm 40mm box steel and 5mm steel plate

not sure if this will work but here are some pictures of the diff drop.
my new diff came with free cross members so i just cut them and rewedded them to save time instead of making them from scratch.
the back cross member all i did was make some cuts with a grinder and bent it so its on an angle so it keeps the front shaft at a better angle so the diff is higher at the back then the front if that makes sense

do you have a pic of sensor?
I am guessing its oil based, can it be relocated possibly

I'd say oil level sensor. The one that gives you the oil good indication on the dash before start up, probably shuts the engine down too if it detects there is no oil in the sump.....

Pretty sure its a oil sensor but to cut it out and remove it would be more hassle then its worth....any one keen on a r200a with 4.6 gears haha
