    D40 Fuel Economy

Hey all. Been a long while. Just looking at this thread and I may have the most efficient car here. Haven't checked every post but here are my stats. 2009 ST-X 2.5 manual. Owned since new. 112500k. Original clutch. Shockers about to be replaced as its handling like a plank. My truck does a 37 km...

    RLI's baby adventures!

Congrats RLI. I've been away for too long. Everyone's bubbing up. We had our second child Klaudia on 29/12/12. Slightly more relaxed than your story. Rock into the Mater in Brisbane, nurses say its too slow and try to send us home. Wife says "no way Jose". We drop down to the Morrison hotel for...

    What have i missed?

Your forum is awesome. I've just had the Cruise control not working issue appear in the last few days. Searched the posts, found the likely suspect, solved problem in two minutes flat. Sure enough the little rubber grommet on the clutch had a wee hole. Just needed to turn it a little bit and its...

    What have i missed?

Just looked at the date of my last visit and its been almost two years since i visited you folk. Had a house built and "assisted" in the production of another kid since i've been gone. Little darling is louder than a D40 at 4000rpm. What have i missed? My truck is still the same, no time or...

    clock in dash losing time

Hi Rev777 Just trolling the forum as i've been too busy to look up for a while. Your post caught my eye. My "2009" D40 has no probs with its clock but my dads new car has. Funnily enough it's not a Nissan. He just bought a new Ford Territory diesel that has the turbo diesel engine from the Land...

BP Moe Gippsland = Shit Diesel

You beat me to the post. That was almost exactly what i was thinking. Accumulated moccasin detritus. When i was a young bloke i worked at a shell servo in Heathmont and one of the other young lunatics would check the dips with a lit ciggie. I was young and dumb but i took few steps back anyway.

    Who's a lucky boy eh?

Yes it's very unusual for me to win anything too. The chick on the phone did sound hot but my wife would probably veto that idea. Probably would like the winch except it's $2900 choke. The handsfree phone kit would be noice. Maybe i'll get the Ciggie lighter for $103.75 not. I think the factory...

    Who's a lucky boy eh?

Entered that silly Nissan powerup promotion a while ago. Yesterday a chick rings up and says she's sending me a $1000 gift voucher to spend on Nissan accessories. What should i get?

    Wiper blades for D40 STX

I replaced mine a while ago with supercheap auto inserts also. The dealer advised to just slice the end of the covers with a sharp blade to help get them out. They will come out without cutting the outside rubber but they're a prick. No problems, the new (cheap) ones are still fine.

    baby capsule anchor point..

The ST-X has the anchor points as standard, The ST does not, so you'll need a certified installer. Poor of Nissan to fob you off. I bought the ST-X so didn't need to worry. I was quoted about $1000 in Brisbane to do the three, but one should suffice unless the Grand kids are going to start...

    Yay or Gay ?

Gay as Bob Brown wearing Tonys Speedos. Now that mental image should help erase the thought of the gaymobile. Q. What do you call four fudge packers in a modified 4WD? A. Four on the floor and fats all around.

    Clutch or injector problem?

Hi Kwilko From your description it could be the same clutch rattle that the Spanish trucks have had. Do a search on here for rattles in throttle and clutch. Mine was very annoying and occured at the same times as you describe. I always thought it was pipework contacting somewhere. Turned out...

    Nav on the News

I thought the coppers had put out a spike strip under the Nav. But no, he was in Porsche getaway mood thinking he could drive the D40 just as hard around corners. Four shredded tyres are evidence that he was WRONG!

    Brisbane random chat

Hi Brisbane Hello, we are from Mount Gravatt. Have a block of dirt and building soon in Greenbank, not soon enough for some. Had the D40 since Dec 09. Only done Moreton once (loved it) and the back of Greenbank in the wet is fun and slippery. Looking to do some northern Aus trip in the future...

Converting a Nav tub to a trailer

Exactly my thoughts. Two D40 tubs chopped just past the peak of the wheelarch then butted together would make a pretty good 7 x 4 with higher sides than a standard box trailer. Problem is the wife would prefer her house built first. See you in about 2 years.

    EGR mod on d40

Just filled up tonight. 71 litres for 767.5 kilometers. 10.81KM/L. 9.25L/100KM. City driving mostly 60 zone stuff with about 20% freeway. I think that's a pretty good improvement. The old figure was 9.93L/100KM

    EGR mod on d40

Finally installed the plate i got from jjohn, after finally posting him my 10 bucks. I'm a bit of slack f&^ker. Piece of cake to install. Anyway just finishing a tank of fuel after the install and have had a definite 50km increase in range. My fuel usage is very constant. The car (sorry truck)...
