Hey guys
going to change diff oil and wondered if the oil i purchased is the right stuff.
penrite pro gear full synthetic (80w-140).

Hi mate. Because the front isn't LSD it can use 80w-90w. The rear diff is LSD so the oil has friction modifiers added and a bigger range of viscosity is needed so 80w-140w is used. If you fit a locker to the rear you can then just run the 80w-90w Hope it answer the question. cheers. Brad.

??? being lsd diff or not has nothing to do with 80w-90 or 80w-140 oils. you can get both in lsd or not. you can also use lsd oil in non-lsd diffs but not the other way around.

80w-140 oil is very thick oil but a good choice for hot climates especially if you tow or have lots of hills.
80w-90 is the standard grade and a good choice for the front because most people don't use 4x4 all that much.
