Nothing to do with a Navara but we've got an RR50 Terrano with a QD32T engine. It is idling at around 500rpm, it should be about 800rpm. Anyone know how to adjust the idle please, or does the computer need to have something done to it?

That pump is electronically controlled. Is it a rough idle at 500rpm?

Something is wrong with either the pump, or the engine speed sensor. The ECU should be correcting the idle speed on the fly. Check in the FSM (it's available for download on this site) for troubleshooting guides.

Sorry for being a dunce, but what is the FSM? I've tried to search for FSM but the term is too short.

I hope it isn't something that needs some kind of specialised diagnostic equipment that Nissan dealerships have...we are 450km from the nearest one.
