Thanks

i ordered mine today. they said it would be 10 days.
Fingers crossed it doesn't take 2.5 months like yours did

No worries, one would hope your local branch could offer you better service than the halfwits in Newcastle.

It's been a while between mods, last week i finally got around to ordering a Piranha battery tray to fit in place of the pre-existing precleaner. As with Murphy's Law it turns out my AGM Battery is 4mm too long, i am thinking i may just fold down one side of the tray to make it fit better.

I also picked up a set of Scotty's Sliders from the freight depot on friday. To say i am happy with them is an understatement, they are extremely well built and a lot of thought went into the design.

One thing to watch out for when fitting these is the chassis bracing/gusseting where the chassis rail curves up into the rear wheel arches. On my D22 there is a small section of this that is folded down (see picture). These need to be hammered up flat against the chassis rail to allow the slider to properly align with the sill panel.

I would also like to thank Scotty for his ongoing product support right from the time i ordered the sliders to freight arrangements and fitting. Thanks Scotty

great stuff andrew, thats coming along nicely. those sliders are certainly a peice of work and will certainly hold up for a long time. the sliders you got are with the angle dropped to allow it to be used as a step aswell? and obviously the checker top.

im hoping to put an order in this year sometime but the funds are just slipping away so fast.

good stuff keep the pictures coming.

Rusty

Yes Rusty, the sliders are on the half angle with aluminum checker-plate top. Paint is just standard matt black, much easier to touch up. It took me a while to financially commit to these aswell, but well worth it.

Looks sweet Andrew.

Got the battery in yet ?

Hey if your free over the weekend, your welcome to take my Nav for a spin to get your opinion on the intercooler and exhaust.

Battery isn't in yet its a smidge too big, i think it will be easier to source a new battery.

As if i need more excuses to spend my money  Wont i be seeing you next weekend???

So i got started on building my own drawers today at work. I am using 12mm ply to try and keep it lightweight, i was a little worried the 12mm wouldn't be strong enough but have renewed faith with some trick joinery once i assembled the carcass.

I will be ordering the drawer runners tomorrow and starting to build the actual drawers over the next fortnight.

I hope to have them carpeted and finished by the end of January.

nice job sofar on the drawers andrew
ime going to make my frame over xmas
am going to use 25 mm square alum tube
ile leave the woodwork for you mate
sparra

Got some more work done on the drawers today. The screw holes for the drawer slides were a little larger than i was expecting, i ended up making drawer slide spacers to allow me to use larger screws to counteract that.

I am going to try to have the actual drawers built and fitted over the weekend depending on how much spare time i have.

nice work mate
now ime having second thoughts on using alum tube ?
how heavy is the frame andrew ?

Not sure how heavy the cabinet frame is Sparra, but it is lighter than all 4 drawer slides that total 14kg.

I worked late and got all the drawer components cut up, drilled and sanded today. Just got to go in early tomorrow to assemble and hopefully fit them to the cabinet.

I got the drawers all assembled at work last week. I sacrificed a tiny bit of the drawer depth by moving the bases up to the center of the drawer slide height to allow the use of longer screws to fit the slides to the drawers.
