Thanks for the info Old.Tony. from info at 1010tire.com they say that the 255/70/16 rotates 692.1 times per mile, whereas the 255/85/16 rotates 629.1 times per mile, so that should mean less wear on your tyres.
A larger diameter tyre also menas that once you're up to speed you shouldn't need to push the motor as hard to sit on 100kmh because your gearing is slightly different.
As an example, if you sit on 100k's with stock tyres doing 2100 rpm, let's pretend you burn 10 litres of fuel.
With larger diameter tyres, your gearing is taller so you may only be sitting on 1900 revs to sit on 100k's which should mean you'd use less fuel.
Does that sound right / make sense, or am I completely wrong???
