Have been looking for the plug for the temp sensor I got from Malicious. Pulled the intercooler out and found oil inside it so might as well give it a clean out while it's out.
I'm sure I have read previously that you can swish petrol around the inside to remove any oil and let it dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
Am I on the mark with this or is there other methods other than pertol.

Petrol's the best (cheapest) solution. Methanol is the ultimate, because it will not leave any residue, but it's dangerous, petrol will do the job and the tiny amount that might be left won't harm the engine.

Put a hand on one end, pour some petrol in, put a hand on the other end and play some Elvis really, really loud. At the end of the song, pour it out!

Petrol, then metho. Metho will dilute neatly in water, but will also combust nicely. And it evaporates well.
