Thought i would check my rear brakes out after last weekends play in the mud and water and this is what they looked like !!!,not what i would have expected last time i had the drums off was at 280000 k's now has 301000 k's and shoes hardly worn, that's one job i don't have to worry about for a while yet,any one else still have there original rear brakes on ,if so what k's did you get out of them.

Im on 280000ks with the originals, I only changed the front set of break pads at 250000ks! To be honest my rear breaks dont seem to do a whole lot anyway. Are drums the same when it comes to knowing when to change them? Do the make the same metal on metal noise as you get from the front pads?

Yeah i changed my front pads at 230000 and they still had 2-3mm left on them, rear brakes will make a similar grinding noise when worn out.

Bloody hell Brian,
There's still plenty of meat on them yet.
Probably get another 300,000 out of them.
You must have good petal control.

Cheers
Geoff
