Yeh pretty well, that chart shows the factor that you reduce a slings capacity, so you do the opposite to would out what you are putting on it... Ask any rigger / dogman, the bigger your angle in a sling the less load you can lift, all due to bending moments and addition of moments, engineering stuff.

you could try it with two sets of scales, say your 80kg. stand a foot on each scale legs together, each scale should read 40kg, now put your legs at 90degrees to each other so about hand width apart (when arms outstretched), and each scale should read more than 40kg, should in theory, if everything is right and loads applied on the scale correct, they should read 56kg each. (or whatever you weight is times .7)


this is why dogmen and riggers need to be carefull when slinging loads, very easy to overload a sling, or mounting point
