Hi guys,
Just recently had a problem with my reverse lights, chased fault to reverse switch and replace...all good.
Just took car for a spin and notice fuel gauge is showing empty and fuel light is on. Tank is full so I presume this will be a problem with the fuel sender?
Does anyone know where the unit is and how to get to it, just stuck my head under the ute and can't see it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Most fuel tanks have the fuel sender unit in the top of the tank. In the D40 it's above the tank and quite a bastard to get to - the tank needs to be dropped to get to it.

I had the same problem when my auxiliary fuel tank was installed - they forgot to push the plug back on all the way, had to drain 150L of diesel, drop the tank, push it on an extra 3-4mm and then bolt it up and refill it. Lots of effort for such a small problem - and I bet they'll take more care next time.

Thanks Tony,
I'll try have another look tonight, really hope I dont have to drop the tank.
I'm just hoping the sender unit isn't fried as they look pretty expensive
