Head gasket, prevention

Hey guys,

I have recently found a hair line crack in my head.

Currently looking to get it welded up and do the gaskets.

Was thinking of putting an intercooler on it but I think I heard somewhere the reason patrols head poped a lot was because of their coolers.

Any truth to that? anything I should do to stop this expensive problem happening again?

There are a few reasons why Patrols popped heads but having an intercooler is not going to hurt the head, in fact it should help by reducing the air temp going in and also catch the pieces if a compressor wheel from the turbo shatters.

Alright, ill continue on with a cooler after the head is fixed/replaced then.
