Hi guys,

I have had a totally stock '08 Nav D40 ST-X for around 5 months now and I am looking to take her off road.
I am going to join my local 4WD club in Feb and see where it goes from there.

Not sure what I will need to mod first but will wait for advice before changing/adding anything.
I do want a new set of treads though :D

Nav details -

'08 Nav D40 ST-X
2.5l Diesel
58000k on clock and original Grandtrek AT20 tyres
Getting around 9.6l/100km mix of town and short highway runs.
UHF radio.

Thats all for now.

Welcome Murph.

The list of mods you can do is long and expensive, the list of mods you SHOULD do is completely up to you. You're getting decent mileage out of your fuel at 9.6, you'll notice a difference in that when you start throwing some mods on it.

Just be aware (if you don't already know) that in a lot of cases you do have to buy mods for the ST-X and not the ST or RX as the Spain trucks have many differences to the Thai trucks and yours should be a Spain truck.

Thanks guys.

Will make sure I state I have an ST-X when enquiring / ordering parts.

How do I tell if mine is a Spanish made or Thai made ST-X?

Except Kingcab STX is Thai.

As for taking it offroad, a suspension lift and some under body guards are fairly mandatory on a D40 because of the long wheel base and low ride height.
