I found this site while researching towing upgrades and custom canopies for my 07 D40. The site has been an invaluable resource, donation will be made, Thank you to the participants.
My ute is only used for towing a 2.5t caravan that my wife and I use for work to visit remote & regional hospitals and clinics.
So far to assist with towing the ute has:-
Tough dog adjustable shock absorbers and springs - raised ute by 45mm
Firestone Airbag Rear Leaf Suspension helpers with in cab controls - run at 20PSI
ECM remapped
Beaudesert exhaust
Low Stall converter
HD Nomad Valve Body
Cooper AT3 tyres - mainly dirt road towing
30micron pre filter with water trap & alarm (paid for itself many times!)
Parrot Asteroid Smart Android head unit - Navigation, Torque APP
TyreDog TPMS
Micks Projecta HID installed w 22" light bar
This has been the most reliable car I've had, why I decided to keep it. It is not my daily driver. The only issue we have had has been a spun bearing in the transfer case, happened on an extremely steep dirt rocky road in 2L (I had stock road tyres and had not reduced pressures) I am thinking about a front locker to strengthen things up.
I'll post some pics after the canopy has been installed. I am having a full Aluminium Canopy installed by CSM. Is there a market for the rear tub, bumper etc?
