Hi all,

Recently had a new torque converter fitted under warranty due to a vibration problem at about the 100kph mark. I'm now getting 200+ more k's out of a tank of fuel with the new torque converter fitted.

I'm not complaining but would like to know why. Any ideas?

It's possible that the old torque converter never locked. That means that at an unloaded cruise on level ground, your engine was revving approximately 500rpm more than it needed to. Under load, it could have revved more.

You're now saving that - obviously it's a good thing to have the thing locking!
