I saved a Hilux last summer on an Adelaide metro beach trying to pull a boat out of the water. They took too long and the tide swamped them. Nothing a D40 couldn't handle though.

Geezus! You would be spewing if lending a hand got your nav drowned! I've plucked a Toyota surf off a beach in Adelaide too. Sounds all too common, Nissan saving a Toyota.

they are stupid.Trying to save a broken down boat that floats.I would have waited for high tide and pushed the boat to shore and then tried to load it up.

There are tow ropes and tow ropes. even in the ones labelled "tow rope". Most probably just a bit of rope attached to the boat.

People have absolutely no idea of how much weight any rope can pull. Usually it is very little.
