priming bulb

When priming with the priming bulb, should it stay hard? When I squeeze and leave it for about a minute, the bulb goes soft again. Shouldn't it stay hard?

Clamped the fuel return line on the engine side of the filter and the bulb stays hard. Take the clamp off and the bulb goes soft in about a minute. Is this right?

If the bulb goes soft, how many squeezes does it take to firm up again without clamping?

If it's no more than 6 squeezes, I'd say it's okay.

Sounds normal. As Old Tony said aslong as its not more than 6. Mine usually takes about 3 pumps and its done
