So freaking cheap over there... I was looking at a minitruck site yesterday and a bloke has a 2008 titan and asked who wants to bag it for him on 26" rims. One bloke said yeah no problem, i can lay it flat on the ground for about 4k. Same job over here would be 20k. But in saying that, they dont have all the engineering and safety guidelines we do here. Thats still a lot cheaper than blokes are charging for an imported Tundra... 100k+
 
Can't be much of a bargain that's about the third time that ute has been listed for sale.
 
wonder what the insurance would be on a "one off" vehicle? Is it less because there are no crash or theft statistics for the particular model? or would they make it way more expensive? model it after the d40?
 
It would have to be more expensive because if you were honest (and why wouldn't you be) and told them it was an imported model you'd want it covered to be replaced as an imported model and not just the Australian equivalent.
 
Winches

Don't know how good these are but I am about to find out. I have just bought one of these winches which, buy the picture, is exactly the same as the Ironman Monster winch. Just after I purchsed one the price went up by $100 to $399.

There was 12000lbs ironman whinches on ebay yesterday for $309 buy it now. i put it on watch cause im a tight ass and now its gone i wish i jumped on it I can only assume he priced it wrong unless he sold all ten of them in 12hrs. spewing i didnt hit the button.
 
Winches

My winch has turned up but I am dissapointed. I suppose it should be expected since I only paid $299.
The pictured winch in the advertisment looked identical to the Ironman Monster winch, the one that was delivered was an ordinary looking basic cheap winch, if you know what I mean. That's not to say it won't do the job, it's just not what was advertised.

Secondly, the winch was advertised as wireless and it only came with a 'wired' control. No wireless remote function at all. I have sent the obligatory questions to the seller and we will see what he comes back with. Most probably shit like his service so far.

I saw the Ironman advertised winches for $309 after I had placed my order and am spewing myself as I would have jumped at one of them too.

I'll keep you posted of the progress with the winch issue. If I can get them to reimburse me for the cost of a remote control set up for it, I will be happy. But that's still not enough for the seller to get a good 'score'.
