Snorkel head

Searched but could not find a answer. Read on google on some 4x4 groups that if the snorkel heas is turned backwards you get more power and its better, than having if facing foward. I just want some people ideas on this or even someone whoe tryed this.

as a general rule you won't notice any power increase under 10 kw
turning snorkel head around wont give a noticeable increase in power
it is mainly used when driving in convoy on dirt roads to limit dust intake into filter

That's right - hence buy a snorkel filter to reduce dust intake

With it facing the right way you get a ram air effect pushing air down the snorkel letting the turbo spool easier. With it facing the other way you would get air moving around the head and the turbo having to suck harder to pull air in.

Less dust yes but harder on your engine. And those snorkel prefilters are not that expensive.
