Went 4x4ing today with some forum members and now driving the steering wheel wobbles and gets worse the faster I go, at 100 its nearly uncontrollable thought it was all the mud inside my wheel (there was lots) cleaned that out and still doing it, any ideas?

I was thinking maybe that, don't really know thou? Can't tell if ones missing

Yeah there's still mud everywhere, will clean it up and see what happens, if not ill put the rear wheels on the front

Check for:

1) Mud/ dirt as per previous posts
2) Damaged lugs as per previous posts
3) Loose wheel nuts (you'd be surprised)
4) Get a balance

Turns out it was the mud, also have Los a wheel weight but doesn't seem to wobble since the mud is gone, cheers for the thoughts

Mud makes a huge difference. The utes at work drive fine one day and then crap for a day or two until the crap falls off

I once dropped a wheel into a country town tyre repairer to fix a puncture and he balanced it with mud on it - took me ages to work out why it wobbled after i cleaned it!
