thoughs on intercooler location

I was thinking of doing it for the same reason, but then I thought if the turbo lets go isn't it the hot/exhaust side that's gonna fail normally and how will the inter-cooler help then ??? Never seen a blown turbo so i'm only asking the question.

yes you are right !! most of the time it is the extreme heat affected side ,(exhaust wheel ) that fails... metal fatigue causes blades to let fly .. most times it is the damage caused by the impellor striking the housing ,that causes engine damage ..little bits of metal and aluminium enter intake side , very rare to hear of a complete impellor entering combustion chamber, and destroying piston ....this can be any side once shaft is out of balance ... intercooler works as a catch can for turbo parts:rock: s/steel screen on intake side would work just as well (dont know where from )
