Weird noise

Guys

Mainly while in 4th gear when I put my foot down from say 40/50-60km it makes the turbo whistle for awhile then a sort of tight wet fart type sound any ideas

Please help

Does the performance go down while it's making the weird noise ?

If yes, I would look at a boost leak somewhere, maybe a loose hose clamp that leaks when the pressure gets up.

If no, maybe the variable geometry part of the turbo is making some sounds as it's changing geometry.

No I don't think it does, it seams ok, I think 4th it to low fpr 40-50km hr so it's under to much load hence the different noise
Because it doesn't make it above 50

Probably surge, the turbo tries to pump more air than the engine can use, go back a gear.
