Why Two Batteries?

Why does the D22 have 2 batteries and could it be converted as a duel battery system? Never seen that on any car before.

The D22 has two batteries as it is actually the European model and they are there to cover the reduced cranking power of batteries in cold weather. That is also why you have the "warm it up in snow" switch.

Just be aware that dual battery versions are actually slightly less CCA than one battery versions(OS?). No idea if that really matters

Edit; Each battery is slightly less CCA than ...

Plenty of people seem to have converted them to split battery systems and someone even mentioned finding mounting holes that matched the isolator they used.

Same reason as why JDM Land Cruisers and Patrol's are 24V.
