2012 D40 Seat Upholstery failing after 15,000ks!

Hey Guys,

Ive had my STX (550motor) since new and at 15000ks the driver side seat started to tear right above the bottom seat side adjustment knobs. Poor design i think as when you get in the vehicle you slide in and the upholstery rubs on the adjusters which has caused it to fail.

ALso my cousin has exactly the same problem with his, cars were both bought same month 2012 his failed at about 25000ks.

Anyone else had this?

Im going to attempt warranty on this as it's obvisouly a design fault..

Any thoughts much appreciated cheers.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, I doubt Nissan would warrant a claim based on a design fault that you presume, It will be classed as normal wear and the claim rejected.

I had my bottom seat pad replaced at 35000 under warranty no issue , went to the dealer they submitted a claim , approved and seat base replaced

Wow! tell the dealer you have a small arse and the timing chain has it's own mind..... And I am joking, glad yours was sorted.

My seat base was replaced as it hard a crack in it and used to click going around corners. It was replaced under warranty.
The seat material is showing signs of distress but hasn't worn through above that knob part.

Had mine replaced when 1 week old as the stitching hadn't caught. No probs worth warranty.
