Will check that app out. cheers. My mate had one but it wasnt very accurate. I was thinking about trying memory maps out on the bike. Works great in the Nav so should work on the bike alright too.

Came very close to buying a 29r also, how do you find it compared to the 26 wheels

This ones great. Even plots it on google maps for you.

I never did any mountain biking on my old 26" but love it on the 29er! Seems to roll over obstacles very smoothly...
And great on the roads
Big step up into hyd disc brakes too, very touchy.
The only thing I wish I had done was forked out for dual suspension haha my ass is so sore.

lol. Yeah i hear you. I have looked at a few dual bikes now, in particular the giant trance. If i did it over i would have spent more and got one. But wasnt sure how much i would use the bike. Im riding to work everyday now though so the cost would have been worth it. Next time...lol

Used to ride roadies. Was doing about 5-600km a week on it, would ride 20km into town, couple KM up the mountain, then 40km home as my lazy sunday ride. Looking back now i can only think "wtf was i thinkin'!!"

I've got a Kona mountain bike I have been doing road rides on to get fit/lose weight. Can't wait to get out to bunya tracks!

I have a mountain bike and a road bike. We have a group of about 10 guys and girls I regularly ride with in and around Brisbane. We ride gap creek and daisy hill on the mountain bikes alternating Tuesday nights and everywhere else on the roadies.
Some of the guys are a bit more keen than me and do weekends away up in the mountains camping hiking and riding.

A few years back at work we won the lotto. (About 7K) Unfortunately every man and his dog was part of the syndicate and i only pocketed about 600 bucks. I bought a Giant Rincon hardtail with the win and have used it for years around the hills and MTB trails of Albury. It's not very fast or trendy. (In fact one day this arse clown told me they were like the holden commodore of the MTB world - whatever that means) But it has never let me down. The only mod i have done to it was put on some big arse maxxis tyres on it and some decent pedals. The thing is bullet proof.

Hey Rant arse clown he was mate!
To some of the MTB people if you're not on the latest fancy smancy tredley you just up with the fashion. I got a heap of dollars off on two Avanti Montari MTB's (his and hers) because they were last years models, this years model had the same running gear and slight colour change but had the date so were heaps dearer.

Cheers Brad

how annoying are road bike riders who think they have to ride side by side and nearly cause soooooo many crashes

Yep it's not that hard to keep an eye out for cars and make sure we are out the way. but at the same time it's not hard for cars to give us a little bit of room too.

2 bikes is normaly not to bad. It's when the guys ride in groups of 10-20 and they are 3-4 wide.

After having been on both sides i think that the problem is shared. some drivers don't want to share the road fullstop, though yes i agree some cyclists don't either. We used to ride 50km/h pace-lining, 2 wide on a fairly busy road and never had a problem, so long as we were responsible and so too the drivers.

Got into a bit of mountain biking over the past 2 years... Don't ride as often as I should coz it's usually too hot where I live (Karratha) and too cold where I work (South Korea)

At home I have an Apollo Enduro, hardtail bike, from reviews these bikes are about on par with the giants etc....

At work I bought a Cello (Local brand) XC. Hardtail also. it cost about the same as the Apollo but not quite the same quality I think..

Mountain biking is huge over here! There are trails everywhere, and by far the best I've ever ridden.

Couple of pics.

The arrows are degree of difficulty, 3 arrows is the highest difficulty... Take a couple of trips over the bars down here :(
