Those 9 inch diffs (or gearboxes?) were designed for large cars & for trucks back in the US old days, (1957).

do i suspect some ford fan sour grapes
'or maybe,
for the more sophisticated, discerning motorsport Australian fan,
there is always that super crowd drawing, should we keep it or should we dump it, crowds down massively when they outed the V8 Supercar round and then had to re-enter a V8 round the following year to attract the masses again F1.

In July 08 Team VODAPHONE gave months of notice of their intent to defect when Roland Dane Stated the following when asked to comment on Fords pulling of sponsorship of the brands No 1 team
"Whenever you've been sacked by your girlfriend, you're going to try to get a better looking one,......"
and you can be sure they were testing soon after that. Photos of their test cars and stories of secret testing came out but their success still took nearly everyone by surprise.
