D40

Hi All

2011 D40 bought 30/12/2011 8000 kms on clock, no problems so far. Tow a Coromal off road van, getting 13litres per 100 ks. Around town 10.5 100 ks.

2012 RX, picked up 26th march and just clicked 19,400km
Gone back for clutch problems last month, going back again tomorrow for leaking power steering rack.
Other than that I get 700+ km every time off 65-67L, so pretty happy so far

95000km or thereabouts 2008 auto dual cab D40:
1. leaky power steering rack
2. new torque converter
3. paint off radio power knob and they replaced the whole radio (go figure)
4. paint blistering around cruise control buttons.....replaced (it is doing this again but I've not bothered about it)
5. auto transmission filler/dip stick tube fractured (recovered by RACQ and currently in Westco Motors in Cairns under repari)
6. .....possible universal failure yet to be confirmed

So, apart from some exceptions it looks like D40's need to be flogged off when the odometers get to 6 figures!!..damn, my Cherokee was looking good for 400K. :)

Dec 2008 stx kingcab..cooked the turbo..overstressed the pressure relief valve (now rebuilt and my fault) apart from services all good.still quiet as a mouse

Just clocked up 60,000 k on my 2013 d40 st auto . Was picked up new in july with only egt sensors needing replaced ( 4 so far). As a work / family ute I reckon its pretty good with only a few mods and a bit of looking after should do the trick ok .:blasign:
