I've picked up a second hand Nissan factory tub liner for my d22 the other day. What do you guys think the best way is of sticking the tail gate piece down? I'm thinking contact adhesive and a row of stainless rivets with some washes. It's a over lip type

Good Question,

The factory provides double sided tape which turns out to be a total failure.
The black liner panel expands a lot on the sun and tears the tape off. this is why I do not reccomend using contact adhesive. I drilled a hole in each corner and use a rivet and say 15mm stainless washer on each corner. The hole in the liner I drilled at say 8mm to allow for expansion and greased between the tailgate and liner and liner and washer. This was reasonably successful but the black panel still gets a bot of a bow in it parked in the sun.

Yeah I was thinking something along the lines of that. But the expansion and contraction I never thought about.. Plus I have load anchor points and 2 x 12 volt plugs as well to try and plumb in to it.

So I've been a bit board on night shift and bought a couple of things off eBay. Purchased a pro vent 200 catch can and a Delphi diesel pre filter.

Over the next week or two before our trip to Kalbarri I'll be fitting up a Tough Dog 2 inch lift kit and a set of 275 75 16 Cooper ST Maxxxxs too.
On top of that I'll finally get the second battery installed with a red arc solenoid as well.

throw the tubliner away and get some diy sprayon liner
it wont warp in the sun

So the next ten days are going to be pretty exciting. Got my tough dog lift kit going in on the 7th, 265 75 16 cooper St maxxs the same day as well as safari snorkel. Dual battery kit is going in with red arc solenoid and piranha dual battery monitor on Monday, spray on ute liner next week, new fridge and fridge slide, roof rack and awning, and all our emergency product lighting including light bar and led front and rear lighting. Can't wait!

Just completed the EGR mod, I'm hugely impressed about how smooth it is now, it's quiter too! I'm wondering what to do about the connection for the swirl controller? Maybe hook it back up to make it look un tampered with but cut the wires and heat shrink?

They're a great bit of kit. I'm sure Zordo would of worded you up on how you need to modify the front plate to fit upto the Nissan steel bar. I also cut a about 40mm off each side flap on the middle plate as it was close to the lower control arm rear pivots - you'll see what I mean when you fit it.

Let us know how you go with the Delphi install and throw up some pics if you have time.

Cheers

Cheers mate, I'm still waiting for the Delphi to rock up, as well as the Provent. But guess what? I just came back from a spending spree.. Picked up a deep cycle battery and some heavy duty rhino racks

Nice Rig

Hey mate,

First up, nice rig!

Secondly where did you get your fm antenna from? I have searched on ebay and cannot find a bull bar FM antenna.

And lastly, you say your FIFO? where abouts you working? I am up at FMG Christmas Creek doing stage 2 construction for CSI.

Hey mate, the antenna on the Bullbar is for the UHF, the replacement FM antenna is the factory one I got off eBay. I work out at Kambalda. I cart gold in 5 trailered road trains

I got the heavy duty rhino racks on today. Now I've gotta sort out the load supporting rack on the canopy (it sits too high and stands out) and then I can get the light bar sorted for the rear of the canopy. Not to hard to install, easy to make up a drill stop out of some old Coolant hose and some electrical tape. Measure twice and drill once. I'll find out how good the silicon job is when it rains lol
