G'day guys, iv been seeing a lot of advertising for roo systems exaust and chip deals, am pretty keen to get it, but would just like a bit of feedback on their products if anyone can help.

Don't waste your money, the guy that runs it is a **** and I wouldn't trust their product or after sales support considering some of the stories I have read on forums, even if yota monthly has them as sponsors and that roothy guy is always there making ads for them it means nothing.

Spend a bit more on a quality setup that is proven to deliver, beaudesert 2&3/4 inch mandrel bent exhaust and a Chip it, Steinbauer or Unichip to go with it and try and get some dyno results or even better get the dyno place to tune the chip to your vehicle.

Mate I had major issues with Roos systems and to much effort to type. If you would like to hear what I went though shoot me a pm with your number ill give you a buzz.

Dean.

My understanding is that Express Media Group have a financial interest in both Roos Systems and Tigerz11.

Express Media Group publish a number of magazines including 4WD Action.

I'd just go a beau dessert mate and a chip it. I have both they are awesome. I'm selling my chip it chip if your keen its 6 months old.only reason being just bought a new stx. Gonna do the same setup again as soon as I can.

What he said.

Especially Tigerz11, which is why it's constantly shoved down our throats all over the DVDs and 4x4 action magazines. It's actually something thats really put me off the magazine lately. Everytime i see that Glenno bloke, it makes me want to punch the teli.
I have a 2&3/4 Beaudesert full system, and was nearly gonna get the Roo systems chip, but i've so far read more negatives than positive about it, including a close mate whos had a gutful and simply turned the damned thing off.

Does the 80 series air box make that much of a difference? Is it worth intercooling as well?

Jarryd

Hi jarryd,
I have just had a chip it chip installed on my 2012 d22 2.5.
The ute itself was already running a 3 inch exhaust and I did want to modify my air box or a least install a uni or k&n filter before the dyno tune was done. Dean at wa automotive specialists (chip it balcatta) told me not to waste my time on a aftermarket air filter. To prove his point he removed the filter completely and the car actually produced less power by .6 of a kw. We then did a dyno run with the air intake pointing straight into the engine bay (eliminating the snorkel) this resulted in .8kw gain. If I was you I'd leave the factory box standard, and chase that little extra power else where. My ute managed to get a 26.2kw gain at the wheels (bout 35 hp) and 390Nm (a 100Nm gain) hope this info is of some help to you.

I agree with Richo. In hindsight I wouldn't do it again. For all the stuffing around it is not worth it. Keep in mind I had a chip & 3" before I fitted the 80 series box - and the gain was minimal - if anything at all. (I didn't dyno after fitting the airbox)

One other thing mate, I have seen dyno read outs for the d22 with only a egr blanking plate fitted and was up 3kw or so over stock. Weather or not the difference would be noticeable, probably not. But a blanking plate can easily be constructed using any old thin scrap metal sheeting you may have laying around, and using the gasket as a cutting template. It's something you can do over a cold one and it will cost you doughnut.

Definitely noticeable. Exhaust gave me extra grunt for sure. But I couldn't believe the difference I noticed after blanking the EGR. More juice at lower revs, etc... Up until then I always thought it was a gimmick.
