    D40 rattle in dash

I had a vibration coming from my steering wheel which got worse over time. Replacing the clock spring fixed mine.

    2007 D40 Cruise Control Issues

Thanks for the link Tony. I've been trying to work out whether its the right part for my Navara, and the vehicle filter on that site suggests that it is not. I'll email them to see what they can come up with. cheers, and thanks again.

    2007 D40 Cruise Control Issues

Minor update on this issue. My cruise control hasn't been working for months, and an air bag flashing light triggered me to investigate. I found the tip re putting a 5c piece on the plate where the clutch pedal trips the cruise control button, and voila it worked! Initially thought it hadn't...

    Jack

Hi. I had a 2 inch added to my Navara a couple of years ago, but I had a sudden thought last night about whether the standard jack is now suitable. I've done a lot of miles (including remote) since the lift, but I'm now worried that I've been under prepared with such a basic tool. My plans...

    Water tank - rear tub

Some time ago there was a discussion around building drawer systems, and I recall - I think - someone had designed a system that incorporated a wanter tank and tap fittings. I've done a search but can't find anything. I have a DIY drawer system and I'm thinking about replacing my water in...

    Wheel studs - where from?

Thanks Joe - Cheaper from Nissan?? Maybe but very doubtful given the mark-up on everything else :) I'm just relieved there is no difference between the Thai and Spain built - its about the only thing that is!

    Wheel studs - where from?

Yes, I've heard that. Trouble is, there is no way to determine whether the current studs have had that excessive torque. I found 3 x studs today at the local Sprint Auto - only $6.00ea.

    Wheel studs - where from?

After hearing a couple of stories this week of broken wheel studs and lost wheels in the remote outback, I'm thinking of grabbing some 'just in case spares' for a red centre trip in a couple of weeks. Where is the best place to grab some spares? A quick google search didn't find much. Do the...

D40 rear springs same on Thai and Spanish?

I'd be assuming 'no' - nothing else seems to fit. Give the supplier the VIN to make sure.

    Spares for travelling

After searching far and wide I decided to go with genuine Nissan parts, just to relieve me of any agony associated with buying wrong parts unseen. No affiliation, but ended up going with von Binbra (Qld) - all up approx. $50 cheaper (delivered) than anywhere else I could find.

    Roof rack for Fibreglass canopy

G'day Terry - Most utes with bars/racks on their canopy have them connected through the canopy to the tub. I don't think its wise to attach the rack directly to the fibreglass. My 2 cents worth. Good luck with whatever you decide.

STX Alloys - why so difficult?

That's what I had hoped! Thanks for that

STX Alloys - why so difficult?

Okay, now I'm really confused. I have a Spain built D40 STX, and I'm planning a trip to Alice in a month or two, so thought I'd get an extra spare. Fortunately I checked the forum and found out that Spain / Thai models have different offset in the wheels. Like all things Navara, you need to...

    Oz vs USA engines

Thanks! Maybe that's why I had difficulty finding parts! :) I went to one web site where the parts list seemed to indicate that one particular model had a diesel engine. But, I think I'll buy locally just to be on the safe side. thanks again.

    Oz vs USA engines

I've just ordered an air cond blower unit from the US - $68 landed compared to $340 from Nissan dealer in SA. (genuine Nissan item - same part number). I'd like to do the same thing with the radiator hoses and fan belt - its getting the part numbers to match is the problem! :)

    Oz vs USA engines

In my search for cheap parts (fan belt and radiator hoses) I've noticed that it appears that the US version of the Navara (Frontier) appears to have a different diesel motor than the Oz version - so I can't be sure that the parts found in the US will match my car. I've had a quick search on the...
