Gday fella's anyone had a issue with a taco not reading right. With car turned off it reads 1000rpm and with car running reads 1000rpm to high. It has happened before but came good after car was turned off for a while. Just wondering if it's a dodgy plug somewhere or not. If so can you please let know where this plug is.
Thanks Goata

2008 yd25. Sorry Dave should have mentioned that. It came good again today after sitting for about a hour. It's temperamental sucker

The Tacho gets its signal from the ECM from memory.

Played with any of the ECM wires lately ?

Nar mate only thing I have to ute so far is a stereo head unit

I had similar happen once, and also had it one day telling me it was idling at 3500, and so moved as such ahead at all revs. Dealer had a look, reckons they can be sticky. Told me if it happens again to take it in and they will replace the whole cluster. Worth looking at i say.

Hopefully next time it happens I get it to them before it comes good again.

The first time i didn't and they took my word on it. The second i got it there and he saw it just as it came good.
