eildon pondage

was up at eildon on the week end
just thought i would let the Victorian guys know that there is quiet a few nice water holes and little tracks around eildon's lower pondage area near the cemetery ( don't worry it's not in the cemetery)...
will be great for a day trip or weekend with the family cause they just stocked the pondage with 2000 trout ranging from 500gms to 3kg and the little water holes are right next to where you can fish,

just look around the cemetery area you'll find em...
and there is the Rubicon state forest which has some nice tracks about 5mins out of town...

Did you catch much mate? How much water is up there at the moment?

I should take the missus for a cruise up there one day....

the big lake (lake eildon) is pretty full about 95% and the pondage just varies on how much water they let through... i fish the pondage with power bait or tassie devil lures, either white or pink i caught 4 trout last week... and worms in the big lake usually catch carp and redfin but the only spot land based, near eildon (town) is right next to the alliance boat ramp at the dam wall...
