This may not effect anyone here but just incase it does, owners of Lenovo computers please take notice that your computers may be subject to a recall.

The official word

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Lenovo is voluntarily recalling 160,000 ThinkCentre M90z and M70z all-in-one desktop PCs sold worldwide between May 2010 and January 2012. Lenovo has determined that due to a failure of the power supply in the affected all-in-ones, the PC can overheat and pose a fire hazard. M70z was not sold in Australia or New Zealand.

Effective immediately, Lenovo is offering free power-supply replacements for all affected ThinkCentre M90z all-in-one desktop PCs. Only some of the ThinkCenter M90z PCs sold in this timeframe are affected, and all of the affected systems can be identified by machine type and serial number.

To help aid in the identification of affected systems, below you will find a picture detailing the location of the machine type and model (MTM) number.

Our records indicate those AIOs with the following MTMs are affected by the recall.

ThinkCentre M90Z: 0800, 0852, 0870, 2471, 2557, 3091, 3265, 3429, 3650, 4285, 5205, 5248

Please note this is a supplier notice recall only, used to let suppliers know what they should tell their customers. For those with computers listed speak to the company/shop you bought them off, although all Lenovo dealers can handle the recall chances are your best reception will be with a receipt from the place of purchase.

Suppliers are being told to contact their own customers who they've sold these computers to but obviously not all suppliers will do that, or do it in a timely fashion, so if your computer fits the bill then contact your supplier.
